ABOUT

Welcome to Souza's Sanctuary - we are glad you are here!

We are a 501(C)(3) non- profit parrot sanctuary, located in Northern California. We have the backing of the Petco Foundation as well. We give a safe, forever home for parrots to live out their lives in a flock setting. We are not open to the public as this can cause stress to our birds.

We work hard here to give a quality of life to our parrots. Our goal is to let them live out their years in a flock type setting that is natural to them.

We also have complete boarding facilities for parrots which helps us fund the sanctuary. We board parrots indoors, and they are treated just like one of our own. You can come see our boarding room by appointment only.

We are aiming to meet the needs of all our animals and work hard here to give a valuable life to our parrots. Our goal is to let them live out their years in a flock type setting that is the most natural to them. We aim to provide excellent care for rescue, escapee/recaptured and surrender birds interim to finding long term and hopefully "forever" homes for them. Our facility will include care for both hookbill and softbill birds. This requires proper housing, and food for many types/species with the goal being communal and natural. Large flight type enclosures are our main housing. New homes will be persued by an application and a through screening process. For those birds that cannot be re-homed we will provide a rest of their life home here at our sanctuary.
